Renegade gardener Ron Finley started a worldwide urban garden revolution by planting a food forest on a vacant lot in South Central LA seven years ago. His “Gangsta Garden” has since become a model for creating sustainable community gardens in urban food deserts. He and his fellow gardeners are about to get evicted by real estate developers. Sign the petition and donate to save a little piece of paradise in an otherwise grim concrete jungle.

Two people have proven under scientific scrutiny and video surveillance that they can live without food or water for periods of time that defy the laws of physics

While many of us argue over whether humans can survive on a vegan or fruitarian diet, there are allegedly thousands among us (mostly in India and Brazil) thriving on nothing but air, occasional sips of water or juice, and a mysterious energy called Prana.

Most the pine nuts you buy in the store come from China, are pasteurized and cost a small fortune. Don’t you wish you could pick your own and eat them fresh for free?

$2 an ounce! That’s $32 a pound!

You can! Anywhere there are pine trees there are pine nuts, although there are only about 20 species of pine that produce seeds large enough to be worth harvesting. In North America, these are mostly in the Southwest and along the Pacific Ocean.

Loneliness – The # 1 Public Health Epidemic Doctors Aren’t Talking About

October 13, 2016 at 3:37 pm

More than cigarettes, alcohol and obesity, loneliness is the single largest risk factor in disease and premature death, said Lissa Rankin – physician, public speaker, and author of Mind Over Medicine – in a Ted Talks presentation last month:

Why You Really Get Sick, and How to Heal

September 22, 2016 at 10:24 pm

00-calling-in-sickGerms don’t make you sick. Louis Pasteur recanted his theory that they do on his deathbed, but the entire modern medical industry – which makes trillions off its war on germs – failed to get the memo.

Saying bacteria and viruses cause disease is like saying flies cause garbage, says spiritual guru Teal Swan. Germs – like flies – show up for the party when there is a build-up of waste material in the body to feed on, but they are not what created the waste. What created the waste is far more complex.`

In the video below, Swan does an excellent job of summarizing what holistic practitioners of health have known for thousands of years:

“Wild Fitness” Expert Explains Why Gyms Don’t Work

Hunter-gatherers weren’t trying to get fit, they were just having fun

Nearly 70 percent of people paying for gym memberships never go to the gym. 80 percent who join the gym in January – most likely as a New Year’s Resolution – quit within five months.

Wildfitness” Founder Tara Wood says this is because our bodies and minds were not designed for gyms, and no matter how much we try to beat them into submission, eventually they refuse to cooperate.

Whole Foods Teams Up With Monsanto to Kill GMO Labeling Bill

July 3, 2016 at 11:48 pm

Whole Foods, Organic Valley and Stoneyfield have teamed up with Monsanto and Dupont to nullify Vermont’s new GMO labeling law that now requires companies to disclose the genetically engineered ingredients hiding in nearly 75 percent of processed foods in this country.

Food Democracy Now reported last week that the self-described “organic companies” have brokered a last-minute backroom deal with the “devil” food giants that guts a national GMO labeling bill and overturns Vermont’s new state law.

Thanks to Vermont’s historic legislation, which went into effect July 1, many major food companies like Campbell’s, General Mills, Pepsi, Nestle and Smucker’s have already started labeling their products as “partially produced with genetic engineering.”

IMG_1884-768x1028One taste of the sparkling, fruity, super elixir and I was hooked. It was fizzy and refreshing like champagne, but loaded with good bacteria, enzymes, vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin B 12, which my then vegan body was starving for. It gave me a burst of energy (not the jittery caffeine kind) and mental clarity, and helped me digest my food and cleanse my body.
