Elon Musk said he’ll pay to fix the water in any house in Flint, Michigan that still exceeds federally accepted contamination levels
Rising to a challenge on Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has promised to pay for water filtration systems in every home in Flint, Michigan that still has lead contaminated water.
Twitter user @DylanSheaMusic tweeted at Musk saying, “Hey @elonmusk I heard a bunch of people saying there’s NO WAY you could help get clean water to Flint, Michigan. Said you wouldn’t be capable idk.”

Apparently taking the tweet as a challenge, Musk responded a few minutes later saying:
“Please consider this a commitment that I will fund fixing the water in any house in Flint that has water contamination above FDA levels. No kidding.”

Musk said people in need could either reply to his tweet or email him (flint@x.com) with their water test results, and if they exceed FDA levels he will send someone to install a water filter.
The state of Michigan has claimed that the drinking water in Flint is now safe and stopped sending free water bottles, but many residents claim their water is clearly still contaminated.
Musk says that he will “organize a weekend in Flint to add filters to those houses.”
