Woman Transforms Rotting Tree Into a “Little Free Library” in Her Front Yard

This is probably the cutest “little free library” you’ve ever seen:

An Idaho artist gave a 100-year-old dying cottonwood tree new life by transforming it into a charming “little free (tree) library.”

The rotting tree was becoming dangerous, but rather than cut it down completely she decided to make it into something the whole neighborhood could enjoy.

The library is complete with a porch light, a little roof and steps up to a glass door that swings open to the illuminated book shelf inside:

The moulding above the door is even made of little wooden books:

In the spring she plans to plant groundcover and “cheerful perennials” around it, she writes on Facebook.

“Art (in any form) quite simply make the world a cooler place to live in,” she adds.

The woman says her tree is freshly registered on LittleFreeLibrary.org.
