Looney Toons Strips Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam of Their Guns

Warner Bros. wants to wipe Fudd’s rifle and Sam’s pistols from our memories in a new politically correct version of Loony Toons

Try to imagine Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny without his rifle, or Yosemite Sam robbing a bank without his pistols.

Seems impossible, right?

But the producers of a new version of Looney Toons have rewritten the script… and even though it’s just as violent as ever, it doesn’t include any guns.

Knives, scythes and blowing each other up with dynamite are still perfectly acceptable, but guns are a big no no in the modern, politically correct Looney Toons coming soon to HBO.

“We’re not doing guns. But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All of that was kind of grandfathered in,” executive producer of the new series, Peter Browngardt, told The New York Times.

The decision was made “in response to U.S. gun violence,” The Daily Mail reports.

Gun rights advocates see the move as an attempt by Hollywood to help usher in gun control in a time when the government’s guns keep getting bigger – to demonize responsible American gun owners and a “well-armed militia” in the face of a ever-expanding police state.

Conveniently the weapons still allowed on TV are useless compared to government’s big guns:

Here’s a clip from the good ‘ole days, if you feel like getting nostalgic.
