Nike Becomes First Major Brand to Make Hemp Shoes




Hemp could replace factory-farmed leather as a sustainable shoe material







Hemp is making a comeback major clothing and shoe brands now that its legal to grow in the U.S. again.

It made its debut in in Levi’s jeans last year, and now Nike is releasing a line of all-hemp shoes (except for the rubber soles, of course).

The company has teamed up with the skateboard and surf-wear company Stüssy to recreate Nike’s popular Air Force 1 shoe, only with an all-hemp upper.

The shoe is currently only available in the UK for $185, but if its popular, we can bet it’ll soon be available worldwide.
