The Placebo Effect Proves We Can Heal Ourselves With Our Minds

July 16, 2017 at 3:59 am

In a documentary called The Power of Thought, stem-cell biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton estimates at least a third of all healings – including those involving drugs, surgery and all other allopathic treatment – have nothing to do with the treatment itself, but everything to do with the patient’s belief in the treatment.

The placebo effect, as defined by Google, is a “beneficial effect, produced by a placebo drug or treatment that cannot be attributed to the properties of the placebo itself, and must therefore be due to the patient’s belief in that treatment.”

What a Hunter-Gatherer Diet Did to a Man’s Gut Bacteria in Just Three Days

July 7, 2017 at 5:46 pm

After just three days of living and eating with the Hadza gatherer-hunters, the gut flora of a relatively healthy British professor were transformed for the better.

Tim Spector, a genetic epidemiology professor at King’s College London, has been studying the “major influence” gut bacteria (and other microbes) have on our immune system, metabolism, mood and general health. What he and his colleagues have found is the greater the gut flora diversity – the more types of microbes – the better. High diversity is associated with low risk of obesity and all types of disease.

May 11, 2017 at 9:46 pm

A man claims to have relived his circumcision multiple times during a series of orgone therapy sessions:

In a therapy similar to somatic therapy he remembered lying in an operating room and not being able to move his arms. He remembered the doctor making eye contact, “and then I felt the shock of the pain in my genitals.”

Waking Up to Alarm Clocks is Literally “Torture,” Body Clock Scientist Says

March 2, 2017 at 5:31 pm

Alarm clocks are throwing off our circadian rhythms, which can cause all kinds of disease. Body clock scientist calls for moving the start of the business day to 10 a.m.

Employers worldwide have been “torturing” their employees with sleep deprivation since the industrial revolution by making them come to work when they should be sleeping, says Dr. Paul Kelley of Oxford University’s Sleep and Circadian Institute. The same goes for schools and their students.

Kerrygold Butter Was Too Popular, So Wisconsin Outlawed It

February 21, 2017 at 8:33 pm

It’s no surprise that America’s Dairyland isn’t thrilled by the increasing popularity of a foreign competitor, but the depths to which the State of Wisconsin has stooped to outlaw Kerrygold Irish butter are outright un-American:

Photo of Breast Milk Repelling Harmful Bacteria Goes Viral

February 10, 2017 at 9:31 am

A photo showing droplets of breast milk fending off armies of harmful bacteria in Petri dishes is going viral on Facebook.

The photo, posted by a biology student in England, features nine Petri dishes completely colonized with the bacteria M. Luteus, except in the center, where tiny puddles of breast milk have created what looks like “moats” of protection around themselves.

The student, Vicky Green, said she had similar results with Petri dishes full of e.Coli and the dreaded anti-biotic resistant “super bug” MRSA.

Conditioner is a Scam Perpetuated by Oil-Stripping Shampoos

January 17, 2017 at 4:56 pm

Almost all shampoos strip the natural oils from your hair, which keep it stronger, shinier and healthier than the most expensive conditioners on the market, for free.

It’s almost impossible to find shampoo and conditioner without a long list of synthetic chemical ingredients. Even the most natural brands have replaced cancer-causing preservatives like parabens with phenoxyethanol, which isn’t much better.

But one of the worst ingredients, found in even the most “organic” brands, is alcohol, which totally strips the protective natural oils from your hair, causing your scalp to go into overdrive producing more oil to heal it.

Renegade gardener Ron Finley started a worldwide urban garden revolution by planting a food forest on a vacant lot in South Central LA seven years ago. His “Gangsta Garden” has since become a model for creating sustainable community gardens in urban food deserts. He and his fellow gardeners are about to get evicted by real estate developers. Sign the petition and donate to save a little piece of paradise in an otherwise grim concrete jungle.
